Everett Kennedy Brown “Echoes of Tradition”
Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum
This event has ended.
The photojournalist Everett Kennedy Brown has traveled across Japan in search of its traditional culture. Some 40 exhibits of carpentry tools, traditional Japanese architecture, and photographs of contemporary artisans from the end of the Edo through Meiji periods are on display, revealing echoes of a lost Japanese era and exploring the soul of craft. Other displays of objects and photographs by Brown demonstrate how traditions are being passed on to young artisans.
