For more than 40 years, contemporary Japanese designer Shinzi Katoh has been giving the world characters and products full of originality. His stationery, bags, shoes, tableware, towels, stuffed animals, and other creations have a charm that delights people in Japan and around the world with the color and hopefulness they bring to our lifestyles.
Katoh finds inspiration in fairytales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, and Alice in Wonderland, as well as in stories featuring his own original characters created with a soft and original touch, such as Cheri, Mon peluche, and Solarbear. He has also won many fans with his collaborations on Disney and Pokemon merchandise.
With this exhibition of some 200 items including original illustrations, sketches, and accessories, Katoh hopes to continue expressing his dream world enhancing our lives and imaginations with new ideas for lifestyles and fashion.
