This event has ended.

This body of work provides insight into the circle of life from a mind-focused perspective. Specifically, it addresses when one component of our selves is destroyed only to give life to the next generation of our being. The subject matter is both personal and universal as viewers can relate their own stories of passing through darkness to re-emerge transformed. His works could also be called ‘psychological portraits’, that derive from an investigation on cultural norms that have influenced people unconsciously through an insight into depth psychology and ancient stories. These works bring up stories about ‘the self’ like a mirror and powerfully visualize psychological boundaries such as light and shadows, hope and despair and life and death.
* This exhibition is part of KG+, Kyotographie’s satellite event.
