Kyoto based artist Kana Ago uses outlines to give shape to the self, creating manifestations of the self externalized or of traces left behind - things that people often identify as themselves, such as the face that reflects back in the mirror, private SNS posts or notes from walks. Ago retraces these contours over and over again, resulting in an accumulation of lines.
Showing in this exhibition is the new “Date” works which connects previous works, giving viewers a glimpse of the artist’s outline.
