This event has ended.

Lee Minho gives “thread” many meanings. Red thread, which signifies affinity and destiny, can also remind one of Ariadne’s thread in the labyrinth in Greek mythology. White balls of thread from former textile factories, which used to hold together the Korean economy, float above like clouds, and over the ocean like islands. Stemming out of the remains of a ball of thread, a piece of red thread ties together “what used to be” and “the here and now”, and the surreal, substanceless forms of white balls of thread, mysteriously floating above former factories and oceans, retrieve memories of the fates of society and the economy.

*This exhibition is a KG+ Kyotographie satellite event.
