Keiko Yoshioka “Japanese Scenery”
Kyoto Museum Of Photo Photography (Gallery Artisan Japanesque)
This event has ended.
Keiko Yoshioka’s photography exhibition, “Japanese scenery” is held on the second floor of Artisan Japanesque.
The theme of this exhibition is ”dignified, imperious and commanding beauty.” Photos that capture the distinctive colors seen during the transition between the four seasons are on show. The pieces depict scenes of “Ichigo Ichie” (once-in-a-lifetime chance) in northern Tohoku and the dramatic coastline there.
Japan’s geology and climate make it a unique treasure trove of nature. Once you escape the hustle and bustle of the city, there is much to be seen: native beech forests showing ancient times; lake and reservoirs with blue crystal waters; clear streams and waterfalls moistening mountains; magnificently moody quays and the sea. As an artist, Keiko Yoshioka hopes to conjure up images of the wind blowing and the crystal clear waters shining in Tohoku, six years after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
