Rondo is a term in music where a principal pattern (or theme) alternates with one or more contrasting themes (generally called “episodes”) and keeps returning, reminding us of the repetitions and vicissitudes of time. Takako Higashihata focuses on this in her work under the theme of time and memory, whilst Fumiko Oka looks at universality in her paintings.
