This event has ended.

This exhibition looks back on the development of contemporary printmaking in Japan from the 1950s through the 1970s, an era when Japanese prints drew attention on the international scene as a new genre of contemporary art. Masterpieces by artists such as Shiko Munakata, Yozo Hamaguchi, and Tetsuro Komai are featured along with prints by leading pop and conceptual artists of the 1960s and 1970s such as Tadanori Yokoo. Winners of the Wakayama Biennial of Prints, hosted by the museum five times since 1985, are also featured.
