This event has ended.

Tomomi Morita (b. 1994, Kyoto) won the 2017 KG+ Award with his Two Rivers photo-essay on Minamata and the Asio Copper Mine, two locales synonymous with environmental pollution. This time around he takes another go at a project started two years ago, a look at the legacy of local farmer and student resistance to the mid-1960s construction of Narita Airport at Sanrizuka, Chiba. Accompanying his 4×5 large-format camera images of the ‘battle zone’ will be an installation of opposition movement slogans conflating Sanrizuka’s past and present.
* This exhibition is part of the Kyotographie International Photography Festival.
