This event has ended.

Mika Horie photographs the roots of life in the color indigo, proceeding in a wandering mindset that loses sight of past, present, and future. She begins by first making washi paper from wild trees and spring water. She then takes black and white photographs with a large-format, 8×10 view camera, and finally, cyanotype prints are made using iron-salt and sunlight. She expresses silence, the imperfection of humanity, and a subtle sense of humor in a blue world. Within these blue-and-white compositions, Horie tries to produce a space in which the passage of time is all but forgotten.
