Yoshimitsu Nagasaka who was born in the sacred Koya mountain, has continued to take photographs for over thirty years. In addition to capturing many breathtaking landscapes, Nagasaka also explores the innate spirituality that mountains contain. Since 1990, Nagasaka has held a strong interest towards local religions that worship mountains. The exhibition focuses on Yoshino Omine (the mountain range where Shukendo temples are scattered) and Koya Mountain, that are commonly referred to as the sacred sites and pilgrimage routes in the Kii Mountain range. The photograph provide a sense of mysticism that is embedded deeply in Japanese ancient culture.
