This event has ended.

Started in 2006, the 824 project introduces young artists. Jun Fujisawa received the 1st Shiogama Photo Festival Grand Prize in 2008 for “DZ”, a series of photographs featuring himself and his twin brother. Identity and one’s relatability to others are themes found throughout his work. He plans to show new photos derived from the “DZ” series at this exhibition. Toshinori Uyama, whose activities extend beyond the Kansai region, creates works that question the act of seeing without truly noticing in our day-to-day lives. His photography was selected for the Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art. Machi Fukuda photographs her subjects from many different perspectives. Her works, such as the “Surface/Funiki” series portraying 360° objects as flat, explore ideas of memory. Ranging from film to installation art to photography, she employs a variety of media and methods.
