Famed as one of Japan’s leading print makers Hideki Kimura is not only an internationally successful artist but also well known for his work as an exhibition organizer and educator. First beginning his career in education in 1974 at Kyoto Saga University of Arts and going on to join Kyoto City University of Arts in 1995, he has devoted many years to fostering the creativity of the next generation. To mark Kimura’s retirement from KCUA this group exhibition has been organized by art critic and friend Yasuo Miwaki, reflecting on the artist’s influence upon the wide practices of younger creatives.
