The “Sakura Doctor” Shintaro Sasabe made it his life’s work to preserve the Japanese cherry blossom, while at the same time building an impressive collection of craft items decorated with the patterns of the Japanese sakura. This exhibition features over 240 plates, tea bowls, sake cups, pots and inkstones all embossed with the images of Japan’s favorite bloom, bringing the beauty of cherry blossom into everyday living.
