This event has ended.

The Finnish author and artist Tove Marika Jansson (1914–2001) created the popular series “Moomin.” With “Work and Love” as her creed, Jansson vigorously pursued a creative life from a young age and through a wartime adolescence up until her death at age 86. In honor of the 100th anniversary of her birth, this exhibition presents several hundred items including original Moomin illustrations, oil paintings— a lifelong pursuit of Jansson’s— and drawings for children’s books such as “Alice in Wonderland,” as well as photographs taken by family and friends. There is also a recreation of her “Summer House” on Klovharu island, where she spent nearly every summer from 1964 through 1991.
