Taki says that “red,” in addition to being the color of her own flesh and blood, is proof that we inherit things from the past in our bodies. In this exhibition, she further examines the red body, presenting the abstract work “Laterite,” in which space is born from her own body through the medium of photography. The expanded surface of skin against a black background reminds us of the ever-expanding universe and the planets.
