The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster of 2011 shed light on the separation of society’s convenient ways of life from the natural environment. Mako Mizobuchi asks, “What would people’s life styles be like when in harmony with nature?”, and explores this question using her observations, thought processes and actions as clues to her creative process. Her exhibition is taking place in the science room of the former Junpū Elementary School. Using a variety of production methods including cyanotypes and ceramics, the installation is created to draw out conversations with the viewer.

* This exhibition is part of KG+, Kyotographie’s satellite event.
