In the late 1830s Honoré Daumier vividly portrayed early urban life in Paris. His satirical works depicting modernity were praised by writers such as Balzac and Baudelaire and also initiated the Realism movement, influencing later artists such as Degas and Lautrec. This exhibition introduces 100 of his satirical works in four series.
